Two-week Brigade
More than 2,500 U.S. volunteers have participated in our medical/dental brigades including medical students, residents, faculty physicians, nurses, dentists and various others such as teachers, hydrologists, carpenters, lab technicians, and nursing students. An equal number of Honduras have volunteered their time including medical students, high school students, businessmen, and politicians (including Mary Flakes de Flores, the immediate past First Lady of Honduras).
Brigades have three purposes:
- Promote sustainable health, nutrition and education development at the community level.
- Provide educational opportunities for learners; e.g., medical and nursing students.
- Encourage personal reflective growth through service.
