Dear Shoulder to Shoulder Supporter:

First, we, the executive committee of Shoulder to Shoulder, would like to thank everyone for the very successful virtual dinner fund raiser of 2007.
This event raised over $70,000 with very little overhead. We will always do our best to see that your donations are used efficiently and wisely. The funds raised during this event are being used to support the programs of Shoulder to Shoulder and to continue our construction of the clinic in the town of Concepcion. Our mission is to serve the poor. Our goal is to improve health outcomes in poor communities through primary health care, public health, dental care, nutrition and education. You are making our mission statement a reality.

For 2008 our fundraiser is once again a virtual event: a Virtual Golf Outing. This event will be held virtually in October, 2008. At this time we are offering sponsorship opportunities to individuals and businesses. The details were mailed to many of you and are also available on the web site. In August, details of the actual virtual (think about that) outing will be mailed. We, your executive committee, have seen the impact that these fund raisers can have. You can change the lives of people living in poverty. It is not easy to ask for financial support, but knowing what can be accomplished with this support makes it easier. We often hear from people that they would love to go to Honduras to help, but for many reasons travel is not possible. Working to increase support of Shoulder to Shoulder is a very important part of this mission. Your executive committee wants you to know that you are the spirit that makes everything possible and without your support there would be no mission. On behalf of the people of Honduras, we thank you.

Once again we are asking for your support, only this time in a somewhat different way. We want you to copy the sponsorship forms and petition businesses and potential supporters to sponsor this virtual golf outing. This is an opportunity to increase our base of support and to tell the story of Shoulder to Shoulder to many more people. We value every donation and use the funds to support our mission. We know that it is often difficult to ask others for support, but if you could see the effect on the daily lives of the very poor of Honduras, you could not help but be motivated to seek sponsors for this event. We are extremely grateful for your support of this mission to serve the poor.
